How to write poetry on a picture

1. Open the Design tab and choose a size: square for Instagram and Facebook, tall for a WhatsApp status.
2. Add your photo as the background, or choose a colour or a gradient.
3. Add a text box and type the verse with the Urdu keyboard, or paste it. It is set in Jameel Noori Nastaleeq.
4. Give the words a shadow or an outline so they read clearly over the photo, and add the poet’s name in a smaller line.
5. Download a PNG or JPG and share it.

Making the verse easy to read

• Write the two misre on two lines, centred, the second slightly smaller or in another colour.
• Over a busy photo, put a soft dark band behind the words, or use white text with a shadow.
• Leave space at the edges. WhatsApp and Instagram crop a little on some phones.

Why not a photo app?

Most photo apps have no Nastaliq font and many join Urdu letters wrongly or run them left to right. Here the text is shaped properly, stays sharp, and can be changed later, because it stays text until you download the picture.
