How to type Russian online
- Click in the box above and type. The keys follow the standard Russian layout: Q is й, W is ц, E is у, F is а, J is о.
- Shift gives capitals. ` gives ё, [ gives х, ] gives ъ, ; gives ж and ' gives э.
- Comma and full stop sit on / (.) and the comma key gives б, as on a Russian keyboard.
- Press Copy text, or Open in editor to write a full document.
Why the ЙЦУКЕН layout
It is the layout of every keyboard sold in Russia, so practising here trains the same fingers. If you prefer, switch the box to English with the button above and type Latin text in the same place.
The editor opens with Russian menus and fonts with full Cyrillic such as Roboto, Open Sans, PT Sans, PT Serif and Lora, and downloads Word, PDF or a picture.
