Parental Consent for Travel (NOC) Format in Urdu

When is a parental consent for travel needed?

A child travelling abroad without both parents, whether with one parent, a relative, a school group or alone, is often asked at the border for the written consent of the parent or parents who are not travelling. Consent is also part of applying for a minor’s passport.

Where it goes

For a passport, the passport office has its own requirements, and the parents or guardian normally have to attend or consent in the form it sets. For travel, the consent is carried with the child’s passport and shown to the airline and to immigration. Many countries want it notarised, and some want attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or their own embassy.

Points to get right

• Give the child’s full name, date of birth and passport number, and the same details of the adult travelling with the child.
• State the destination and the travel dates.
• Where both parents are living, the consent of the one who is not travelling is what is asked for. Where there is a court order about custody, carry a copy.
• Attach copies of the consenting parent’s CNIC or passport.
• Carry an English version. Border officers abroad will not read Urdu.

What to fill in

• The name, father’s name, CNIC number and address of the person signing
• The same details of the person named in the paper
• Exactly what is allowed, promised or received, and until when
• The date, the signature and two witnesses

Before you sign

These are general formats to save typing. Requirements differ between offices, courts and provinces, and a paper about property or money has legal effect. Have the final wording checked by a deed writer or lawyer, use stamp paper of the correct value, and get the paper attested or registered where that is required.
